The Hunt is the hunt of life, hunting for health, for life, for happiness, for love, for ideas, for creativity, for success. Lament expresses the feelings of loss and the hope that comes when one overcomes that loss or failure. Its march leads you through the pain, but mostly, above it.From the album booklet:"Where did you go? You were here but a minute ago,full of spit and polish, full of life and jolly.Where did you go? Its march is both sad and hopeful. The piece includes bassoon, contrabassoon, cello, timpani, finger cymbals, sleigh bells, & castañets, but I can imagine it can work adapted in a number of ways by different groups or a very advanced group of students.
