About this arrangement

SAB chorus a cappella SKU: CJ.A110502035 Composed by Antoine RENARD, Dominique PLENAT, and J.-B. CLEMENT. Arranged by Dominique Plenat. Song. Song, secular. Octavo. Editions a Coeur Joie #A110502035. Published by Editions a Coeur Joie (CJ.A110502035). Beautiful cherry blossoms inspired Jean-Baptiste Clement to write this classic of French chanson Le temps des cerises (1866). The Montmartre's chansonnier spent the night in the house near them and imagined the song. It was set to music by Antoine Renard in 1868. It became the symbol of Paris Commune in 1882 when the ex-Communard Jean-Baptiste Clement came back from been exiled in London and dedicated it to a young woman who helped with a barricade during the bloody week of May 1871.This song deals with spring, disillusioned love and cherries of course.Dominique Plenat arranged this song for a 3-part mixed amateur choir (soprano, alto and baritone) and choristers didn't have so much time to learn it, so this sheet music is really simple, easy, and you only need to practice it a few times before performing it for a concert.
