They can reach up to 100 feet in length and can weigh as much as 3,000 pounds. Blue Whales are long and slender, blue-grey in color, and have a flat, u-shaped head. They mainly eat krill, a tiny fish or crustacean, diving for up to 10 minutes at a time to feast on the little creatures. Living for up to 80 years, the Blue Whale is rather solitary and has only one natural predator: the Orca. Blue Whales are considered endangered because their populations have not recovered sufficiently to take them off the endangered species list.
