Being a clarinettist, he was interested in the possibilities of both traditional and modern ways of playing. Noise elements and sometimes imitations of the sound of folk instruments (bagpipe, reed-pipe) appear in this spectacular concert piece. Gergely Vajda komponierte LIGHTSHADOW-TREMBLING 1993 im Alter von 20 Jahren. Als Klarinettist war er besonders daran interessiert, sowohl die traditionellen als auch die modernen Spielarten des Instruments auszuschöpfen. So tauchen denn auchGeräuschelemente und Nachahmungen von volkstümlichen Instrumenten wie z.B. des Dudelsacks oder der Rohrpfeife in diesem spektakulären Konzertwerk auf.
