Ever since antiquity, mankind has been fascinated by the lion: symbolising courage, strength and temperance. Many have made use of the lion to represent themselves in symbols and emblems. In five movements the composer describes both the history of the lion throughout centuries, as well as the characteristics. A challenging idea to turn into music! The final movement ‘King of Kings’ is extremely spectacular. A great choice for thematic concerts or as a main piece in your concert or contest.Dit werk is geschreven in opdracht van het Eurofestival. Al sinds de oudheid is de mens gefascineerd door de leeuw. Dit imponerende dier staat voor moed, kracht en beheersing: er bestaan dan ook talloze wapenschilden en blazoenen met de leeuw als symbool. In vijf delen verklankt de componist zowel de geschiedenis van de leeuw door de eeuwen heen als de kenmerken van de koning der dieren. Een geweldig idee om zo’n onderwerp in muziek te beschrijven! Het laatste deel, ‘King of Kings’, is zonder meer spectaculair te noemen. Een uitstekende keuze voor een thematisch concert of als hoofdwerk van een concert of op een concours. Dieses Werk wurde vom Eurofestival 2016 in Auftrag gegeben. Bereits seit der Antike übt der Löwe eine große Faszination auf den Menschen aus, da er als Symbol für Mut, Stärke und Temperament gilt. Viele haben den Löwen verwendet, um sich selbst in Emblemen und Wappen darzustellen. Der Komponist beschreibt in fünf Sätzen sowohl die Geschichte des Löwen im Laufe der Jahrhunderte sowie seine Charakteristika. Eine große Herausforderung, dies musikalisch umzusetzen! Der letzte Satz, King of Kings“, ist atemberaubend. Das Stück eignet sich hervorragend für ein thematisches Konzert oder als Hauptstück für Konzerte und Wettbewerbe.Cette œuvre a été commandée par Eurofestival 2016. En cinq mouvements, le compositeur décrit l’histoire du lion au fil des siècles, ainsi que ses caractéristiques. Une idée ambitieuse réaliser en musique ! Le mouvement final « Roi des rois » est particulièrement spectaculaire. Un excellent choix pour des concerts thématiques ou comme œuvre principale lors de vos concerts ou concours.
