Lo Ballo dell 'IntorciaAntonio Valente (c1520-c1580) was an Italian organist and composer. In 1576 he published a collection entitled Intavolatura di Cimbalo, which contained Lo Ballo dell ’Intorcia (Intorcia’s Dance).Lo Ballo begins very simply – deceptively simply – building around a lovely repeating chord pattern. But watch out – if you start off too quickly, those variations will tie your fingers into Gordian knots! The chord voicings are for octave mandola/bouzouki but can easily be adapted to any accompanying instrument – just keep those repeating chords in a simple rhythm.
