A recording of the piece was included on Mancini's 1961 album 'Mr. Lucky Goes Latin'. The title comes from the lujon percussion instrument invented by William Loughborough and which is played on the album recording. The lujon derived its name from 'John Lewis' - the American jazz pianist who bought the first instrument from Loughborough.
