It the first of two important works that I composed while studying Early Music at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. The piece seeks to maintain an atmosphere. It is cinematic. In a Finnish winter, there is an astounding effect of light in which the color of the snow perfectly matches the color of the sky. In Finnish this is called the "sininen hetki", or the blue moment. Sometimes beauty can lull one to a restful, deep sleep. Enjoy!
