This folk music is known for its unusual time signatures (like the 7/8 meter in this case), creating an uneven groove which gives to the music a special and somehow "exotic" sound. The song is arranged for trombone and piano duet, and the arranger looked to it that both instruments get interesting parts to play: at the beginning the trombone plays the melody, accompanied by a rhythmic chord pattern in the piano. But later on in the song the roles change: now the piano takes the lead while the trombone only plays a background role.
