The chorale tune is presented twice in the right hand part and it alternates with the phrases of the refrain. In the first verse the melody is played by a solo voice but the second time the texture thickens into three-note chords. It also reaches climax because the range and dynamic level increases but the piece ends quietly as in the beginning.
