About this arrangement

Band jazz ensemble - Grade 2 SKU: KJ.ZB378 Composed by Dean Sorenson. Standard of Excellence Jazz Ensemble Method,Standard of Excellence Jazz in Concert. Jazz, Repertoire. Score and set of parts. Neil A. Kjos Music Company #ZB378. Published by Neil A. Kjos Music Company (KJ.ZB378). UPC: 8402701951.A sweet, melodic, light bossa nova - with a bite! Melbourne Walk-Up was inspired by the composer’s visit to Melbourne, Australia, where, in the absence of an elevator in his hotel, he had to trek up the stairs with all of his luggage. Soreneson says: I composed this melody the following day, as I rested my sore back. Flexible orchestration allows it to be played by as few as 9 players. Additionally, everyone in the ensemble has an opportunity to improvise in the open solo section, and the set includes two suggested solos and a CD with a solo practice track, to facilitate successful improvisation.
