O’Connor uniquely crafts the old fiddle tune into a violin encore that has become a trade-mark of his concerts during the 1990’s. Also included is the recording’s title piece, a Benny Thomasson tune on which he, his father and his uncle collaborated during the early 1900’s in Texas. The tune has become a favorite of American-influenced fiddlers from all over the world. O’Connor keeps his arrangement close to Thomasson’s version but performs it much slower, an original beautiful waltz he learned from the master as his 12 year old protege.
