The 4th flute (or alto) plays a recurring series of syncopated notes that sets the mood of the piece - which should be light - and should be the part that helps keep the tempo from slowing down. There also are 2 optional percussion parts (shaker and wood block) that are simple, but add a lot to the song's mood.
