I had written another work for horn choir (Firefall) to be premiered at an IHS conference recital. Due to a player shortage, it had to be moved to another recital program, which left a hole on the original recital program. So, I stepped into a practice room one afternoon for a few hours and created Mosaic Fanfare. It is a brief snapshot in a simple ABA form based on the three note motif. It is gratefully dedicated to the IHS and the wonderful horn choir that gave its premiere.
