About this arrangement

SA choir and piano SKU: CJ.A121900751 Composed by Genevieve Laloy. Musical tale. Musicals. Parts. Editions a Coeur Joie #A121900751. Published by Editions a Coeur Joie (CJ.A121900751). 210 x 297 mm inches.Mumiq fille du vent, a musical tale for children's choir by Genevieve Laloy name known as LALO, arranged by Jean-Pierre Caporossi and Joel Clement: Commissioned for children choirs from the age of 7, this musical tale mixes a narration and 9 original songs for one, two and three voices.. In its initial version, the instrumental part is intended to be played by a piano, a small percussion ensemble (at least 4), with solo flute and solo cello (student of advanced level or upper class) This tale evokes the life of a tribe living in the Far North. The composer wanted to evoke images of incredible strength resonate in words and music. Images of a people indivisible from its country, the Inuit. A land white with ice and blue at night, where man and animal must coexist, confront and understand each other. A country like no other, where adaptation is the key to life. Stories repeated and "augmented" as in the Arctic tales of the writer Jorn Riel. Traditional tales transformed along their oral path, but always full of symbols that bring back to what keeps alive: love, fear, courage, laughter, change and acceptance of what is. Throat singing and vocal jousting, resting on the vital breath. The finesse and strength of the bone or serpentine sculptures, drawings with sharp lines as sharp as gel, full of details. Accuracy of the Inuit language, when the snow is never exactly the same colour, the same texture, and has such different functions at the heart of daily life. The word "Inuit" itself shines like a diamond in the long winter night, or like the midnight sun in summer... It is by drawing from all this richness that the story and songs of "Mumiq, daughter of the wind" were written. Musical tale for choir with equal voices (SA) and piano: Thanks to the Conservatoires of Villefranche-sur-Saone, Vienne, and the Ecole de Musique de Feyzin (Music School) for their support to this project.
