This work is from Grieg's Lyric Pieces originally written for piano in 1891.  I must confess that this is one of my favorite piano works to play and I've always thought that it would make a great piece for brass ensemble.  This arrangement keeps mostly to the original voicing and style, with the melodic elements flowing mostly between the two trumpets and horn.  Performance notes suggest  placing the trumpets at opposite ends of the ensemble to make the most of the stereo or antiphonal effect from the melody sweeping back and forth. Players of advanced intermediate standard (about grade 5+ ABRSM) will be able to produce a convincing performance.The PDF is 21 pages (A4 portrait) and includes a score and parts for: trumpet 1 & 2, horn in F/Eb, trombone/baritone (bass and treble clef) and tuba/Eb bass/Bb bass.Duration of the work is about 4 minutes.
