The melody and the accompaniment become increasingly more complex and aggressive until reaching a dissonant, fortissimo climax, when random ringing with chimes delicately accompanies a return of the melody. Appropriate during Lent or whenever this scripture passage is used (RCL, Year B, Proper 24.).
