The original hymn appears in the center of the work in the alto voice marked as "c.f." or cantus firmus. Though the voicing for the work is Soprano, Alto and Baritone/bass, the lowest part could be also sung by tenors with a good lower range. The voicing is intended to accomodate choirs and scholas where tenor voices are in short supply. Since the polyphony is not too difficult with only a few rhythmic challenges, this piece would also be suitable for high school choirs. As the work gives glory to the Real Presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, this polyphonic motet is equally suitable for Catholic Church Mass and Benediction both in the Traditional Latin Mass and the Ordinary Form.
