Otakar Zich (1897-1934) studied at Charles University, receiving a doctorate in 1901; also studied under Otakar Hostinske, a musicologist and aesthetician. In 1901, Zich became a secondary school master in Domazlice, a town in the Chod; 1906-10 published articles under the title, Singing and Dancing Round in the District of the Chods.
