String Quartet Cello,String Quartet,Viola,Violin - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782028 Composed by George Bernard. Arranged by Aaron Hettinga. Christian,Easter,Jazz,Sacred. Score and parts. 8 pages. Aaron Hettinga #6083407. Published by Aaron Hettinga (A0.782028). This setting of George Bernard's Classic Hymn, "Old Rugged Cross," for String Quartet takes a completely new approach harmonically in this arrangement. While the famous melody in the 1st Violin has a few added embellishments, the rest of the ensemble joins with tighter jazz-influenced harmony.A reflective approach to this piece of music would be extremely rewarding in a worship setting when used either as an offertory or as a lead-in to a music set. While none of the individual parts are particularly challenging, it will still be an exercise in balanced small ensemble playing.Note: The demo recording is of the Brass Quartet edition which is one half-step higher than this product. This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
