Opening music is one of the first works for wind orchestra by Ben Haemhouts and was originally written under assignment from the Fanfare St. Pieters Kapelle Belgium. The slow mysterious introduction introduces the main theme that consists of the notes F, C, B-flat, F, a combination that was woven throughout the entire work. Then a stirring allegro part follows, with a melodious passage in the euphoniums. The end is a long-drawn-out resuming of the beginning that builds up to a large climax, still built on the same basic tones. This overture is a solemn openings work for every occasion.Opening music is een van de eerste werken van Ben Haemhouts en werd oorspronkelijk geschreven in opdracht van de Fanfare St. Pieters Kapelle-België. De langzame mysterieuze inleiding stelt het hoofdthema voor dat bestaat uit de notenF,C,Bes, F, een combinatie die doorheen het ganse werk gevlochten werd. Daarna komt een opzwepend allegro gedeelte, met een zangerige passage in de euphoniums. Het einde is een uitgesponnen herneming van het begin dat zich opbouwdtot een grote klimax, gebouwd op steeds dezelfde basistonen. Der langsame mystische Anfang stellt das Hauptthema vor, welches die Töne F, C, H, F, beinhaltet - eine Kombination, die sich durch die gesamte Komposition zieht. Es folgt ein bewegtes Allegro, mit einer melodiösen Passage im Euphonium. Das Ende beschreibt eine lang gezogene Passage, die das Anfangsthema wieder aufnimmt und sich bis zu einem Höhepunkt steigert, der aber immer noch auf den selben Grundtönen basiert. Diese Ouvertüre ist ein feierlicher Auftakt zu jeder Gelegenheit.Opening music est l’une des premières oeuvres pour orchestre de cuivres de Ben Haemhouts, initialement écrite la demande de la Fanfare St. Pieters Kapelle de Belgique. La lente et mystérieuse introduction présente le thème dominant composé des notes Fa, Do, Si bémol, Fa, une combinaison que l’on retrouve tout au long de l’oeuvre. Vient ensuite un allégro dynamique avec un passage chantant au niveau des euphonies. Le final est une reprise diffuse du début qui s’intensifie jusqu’ un climax, construit autour des m?mes notes de base. Cette ouverture est une oeuvre d’ouverture solennelle qui convient toute occasion.
