Ferdinando Carulli’s Opus 89, written in the early 1800’s, comprises three guitar duos suitable for intermediate to advanced players. The third duo presented here consists of two movements: a Larghetto, and a Theme and Variations marked Andante with an Allegretto variation as a finale.Both guitar parts are at a relatively similar technical level, and share much of the melodic material, although the first guitar is more prominent. The Andante ends with a short cadenza for the first guitar, leading directly into the Allegretto variation.This edition includes eight pages of music in full score.
