Now comes his new piece, Ouverture, for 4-part mixed choir.When Erik Westberg commissioned this piece, he was looking for something to open a concert with. Fairly early on, I decided to evoke an image of fireworks, in order to create a fanfare for choirs and a tribute to singing. Finding suitable lyrics was not an easy task, so I began composing without any lyrics. Once the music was almost done, I asked Amanda Bjorneras to create a homage to singing. It was at this point that the idea of a wordless part was formed, to let the music 'speak for itself'. - Emil Raberg.
