Später arrangierte er den Hymnus mehrfach neu und nahm ihn zuletzt als Einschub zur Kommunion in seine Messe A-Dur, op. 12 auf. Heute gehört das Stück zu den beliebtesten Werken César Franck und wird, auch wenn es seinen liturgischen Ursprung in der eucharistischen Verehrung hat, gerne auch im Rahmen von Feierlichkeiten wie Hochzeiten gesungen.
