ISBN 9788480206921.English comments: It is a surprising fact that in a country like ours, with a vibrant school of musicology made up of diverse scholarly associations which organise symposia and congresses to diffuse studies which have already been finished or are still at the planning stage, that there should exist an artist of the stature of Enrique Granados lacking a complete biography; or that this composer has been neglected by the numerous post- graduate students that our universities prepare for their doctoral theses, most of which are dedicated to themes and composers far short of the creative projection of this figure and his work. The reason for this enigma could be the dispersion of his works, something that Editorial Boileau has set out to remedy with this edition of this monumental opera omnia, but the fact that Granados' unexpected, tragic and premature death interrupted the pianist and composer's vital, creative cycle and came as a great surprise to the scholars who would otherwise have continued following his activity and musical projection. The biography of Granados is still to come but, thanks to factors as diverse as the celebration of the centenary the Academia Granados-Marshall or the proliferation of projects based on the figure of this composer from Lerida, there are signs that this situation will soon change. This work presents a biographical, composer and a pedagogue study (written to accompany this pianistic opera omnia) of one of the most significant creators of Catalan, Spanish and World music from the turn of the 20th Century.cComentarios del Espanol:No deja de ser sorprendente el hecho de que en un pais como el nuestro, con una musicologia de gran vitalidad articulada en diversas asociaciones de estudiosos que organizan de vez en cuando simposios y congresos para la puesta en comun de los estudios realizados o en perspectiva, exista un creador como Enrique Granados que no disponga de una biografia completa; o tambien que este compositor no haya sido tomado en consideracion por los numerosos estudiantes de doctorado que nuestras universidades preparan para afrontar sus tesis, cuya mayor parte esta dedicada a temas y autores de mucha menor proyeccion creativa que la de la figura y la obra de este compositor. Hay que buscar las causas de este enigma en la dispersion de su obra, a la que Editorial Boileau pretende poner remedio con la edicion de esta monumental opera omnia, pero tambien al hecho de que la muerte inesperada, por tragica y prematura, del pianista y compositor interrumpio el ciclo creativo y vital de Granados y dejo sorprendidos a los estudiosos que habrian podido interesarse progresivamente por su actividad y proyeccion musical. La biografia de Enrique Granados esta por hacer aunque en estos momentos, por motivos tan variados como la celebracion del centenario de la Academia Granados-Marshall o la proliferacion de proyectos entorno a la figura del compositor leridano, parecen existir indicios de que se le acabara poniendo remedio. A la espera de esta futura obra y como complemento de la opera omnia pianistica que aparece publicada aqui, en este cuaderno se ofrece el estado de la cuestion biografica, compositiva y pedagoga de uno de los creadores mas significativos de la musica catalana, espanola y universal de los anos de cambio de siglo XIX al XX.
