Petite Suite Américaine is composer Jean Matitia's first work, composed in 1986. It was written for his friends in the French Army Band during his military service. The piece pays homage to Dvorak's New World Symphony and features several themes recalling the music of "cowboy films" the composer enjoyed during his childhood.
