It has an atypical instrumentation for an early romantic piano concerto, including three trombones (alto, tenor, and basso) and a contrabassoon. Structurally, it is divided into three movements typical of a classical-romantic concerto, with the first in sonata form, the second in a ternary form that I have developed since my first symphony, and a Rondo as the final movement.
