English-German-French-Dutch.With this new suite for concert band Franco Cesarini draws on the rich repertoire of folk songs from the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of northern Italy. Between the 16th and 17th Century this rural region developed the ‘furlana’, a brilliant dance in 6/8 time. This catchy dance soon spread throughout Europe and became more cultivated. François Couperin (1668-1733), Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) and Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) all composer of the 18th century composed ‘furlane’ and in the 20th Century Maurice Ravel used a ‘furlana’ dance his Tombeau de Couperin. Franco Cesarini follows this great tradition by using the ‘furlana’ as the basis for this major new concertwork. Voor dit werk gebruikte Cesarini het rijke repertoire van volksmuziek uit het Noord-Italiaanse Friuli Venezia Giulia. Tussen de zestiende en zeventiende eeuw werd in Friuli de ‘furlana’ ontwikkeld, een prachtige dans in een samengesteldemaatsoort die ook elders in Europa bekend werd. De volksliederen van Friuli zijn gedeeltelijk be nvloed door geestelijke muziek - met name hymnen en psalmen. De muziek van Friuli: een vruchtbare en veelzijdige bron voor decomponist van deze charmante ‘kleine Italiaanse suite’.Diese Komposition ist ein Tribut des Komponisten an das musikalische Erbe des Friaul in Italien. Diese ländliche Region, die sich von einem früher sehr armen Landstrich zu einer blühenden, fruchtbaren Landschaft verwandelt hat, brachte um das 15./16. Jahrhundert einen Tanz, die Furlana, hervor, der sich schnell in ganz Europa verbreite. Außerdem besitzt der Friaul einen großen Schatz an Volksliedern, teilweise auch von religiöser Musik beeinflusst. Eine unerschöpfliche Quelle für den Komponisten dieser reizvollen "kleinen italienischen Suite".Cette suite est une oeuvre de commande pour l’Orchestre d’Harmonie de la ville de Vivaro située au coeur de la région autonome du Frioul-Vénétie Julienne, au nord-est de l’Italie. Pour composer cette suite, Franco Cesarini s’est appuyé sur l’immense richesse du patrimoine musical traditionnel de cette région. L’identité frioulane est également associée la forlane - une danse rapide, généralement en 6/8, née au XVIe siècle - et la musique vocale traditionnelle - dont la villotta est une forme typique. Piccola Suite Italiana est une suite aux couleurs d’une région forte identité.Piccola Suite Italiana è stata composta nel 2004 per incarico della Banda Musicale “Angelo Cesaratto” di Vivaro, in Friuli, in occasione del centenario di fondazione della societ . Questa composizione vuole valorizzare il ricco repertorio di canti popolari che contraddistinguono questa regione dove, tra Cinquecento e Seicento si sviluppò una danza, la Furlana, ballo brillante in tempo composto, che in seguito si diffuse in tutta Europa.
