About this arrangement

Oboe Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.998824 Composed by Robert A. Howard. 20th Century,Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Individual part. 3 pages. Robert A. Howard #6098085. Published by Robert A. Howard (A0.998824). Pied Piper is a fantasy towards a theme, thus reversing the traditional theme and variations format. The work was composed specifically for children, in a music education context. The piece is in the manner of an improvisation on the German folk song concerned with the Pied Piper of Hamelin: Einmal zornig und Einmal leise (sometimes angrily and sometimes gently). The original folk melody is only stated shortly before the final coda. The work is highly accessible for the listener and is appropriate for more advanced oboists, including students and professional players. Pied Piper can even be used as a virtuosic encore piece. Duration: 5 minutes. Registered with PRS (Performing Rights Society, UK).
