Niemiński comments, "the original Pipeaux 1934 contained seven short and delightful musical bonbons, comprising a range of technical challenges; compare, for example, the diatonic and rhythmically simple melodic lines of Milhaud with the chromatic and sinuous ones of Martelli. Transcribing it has added some specific challenges for the organist and I hope, therefore, that this set of transcriptions reflects the spirit of the original, and that it will appeal to organists from student to professional.".
