This short piece for solo piano is part of a collection of ten preludes written in Rome between 2008 and 2013.  Like preludes 3 & 4, it was conceived in a romantic mood, tinged with longing and tenderness. It is written in pure tonal style, however, I have introduced, as is my habit, some small ingredients to bring this music into the 21st century. Besides, I wanted the tonality were quite uncertain thoroughout the piece: at start it seems G min but then fluctuates between D min, A min, B min, Db maj without a secure center.
