One afternoon I sat on a bench by the Davis Islands yacht club staring out into the bay and imagined what it would be like to see pirate ships sailing by filled with hordes of mangy scoundrels up to no good. After deciding on a compound meter (that means the beat has three parts) I typed the piece into my composing software (I use Musescore) in about 30 minutes. .
