Explore 6/8 and 9/8 meters in this exciting Winter Frolic.  Although the piece is in D major, it challenges students to have many musical conversations as the melody gets tossed around between the different sections.  The two main themes provide a contrast between the smooth slurs reminiscent of skating on a pond, to the "crunchy" snow theme that allows students to explore spiccato.  The percussion parts are optional but can add that extra little sparkle.
