The composer didn’t have any knowledge of the attack until his neighbour came shouting at his window. Obviously, this theme became the composers homage for the victims of this cruel act. ‘Remembrance’ became the title track of Van Marcke’s second CD. This chamber music version for cello and piano was premiered exactly 20 years later during the Musica@Parola Festival at the church of Sint Martens Bodegem (Belgium).
