The Romantic-style piece is dramatic in the opening section, with big chords and soaring lyrical melodies. The middle section features scale figures and staccato broken chords that provide a contrast to the opening and closing sections. The ending has rhythmic surprises and closes with a descending chromatic scale in the secondo that supports the chords found in the primo.
