Dort versammelten sich im November 2000 die Mitglieder der Europäischen Trompetergilde (European Trumpet Guild). Bertold Hummel wurde gebeten, ein Stück für diesen Anlass zu komponieren. Der Komponist verwendet darin sechs Trompeten von der Basstrompete bis zur Piccolotrompete, ergänzt nur von den Pauken. Die drei Sätze sind kontrastreich; im zweiten Satz wird der Hörer mit einem "Nachhall" von Luthers "Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott" überrascht. Im letzten Satz taucht eine bekannte, moderne Melodie auf, wird verarbeitet und mündet rasch in ein dramatisches Finale. Hummel verstand es immer wieder, passgenau für einen Anlass oder einen Interpreten zu schreiben, das Publikum zu begeistern und seinem persönlichen Stil dabei stets treu zu bleiben.
