It is typical in the sense, in that, in spite of the minor key, songs are often cheerful by nature, Johan Nijs managed to capture this perfectly in this outstanding arrangement. La musique juive traditionnelle possède une caractéristique unique : elle est un subtil mélange de joie et de mélancolie. Le célèbre chant, Shalom Alechem, en est la parfaite illustration. En dépit de l’utilisation de la gamme mineure, la trame reste festive. L’arrangement de Johan Nijs reste parfaitement fidèle l’atmosphère de la chanson originale. La musique nous conquit par son enthousiasme et sa vitalité.
