My second simfonieta, composed in 2014, is a classic attempt at the pure form of a “small symphony”, in this example scored for alarge wind orchestra (my first one being written for symphony orchestra). It has it’s roots in an even smaller scale of ensemble, a sextetof wind players and percussion, which I composed over a span of only two weeks at a Vienna MDW University’s masterclass incomposition taking place in Semmering, Austria in 2007. The basic form of four rather short movements as well as the thematicmaterial can both be traced back to that composition, which I later revisioned extensively, expanding the original idea both in size ofthe ensemble and the development of the exposition content.The result is a technically challenging piece for a group of experienced musicians, which draws on emotion rather than try to discoverand experiment.Full set of Score and parts.Further info:[email protected]://www.facebook.com/UpBeatEditions.
