Skeleton Waltz starts slow and distant as we look at an empty graveyard and suddenly the music becomes loud and exhilarating as the Skeletons appear and perform their dances. The main theme represents all the skeletons in unison and each individual section represents solo dances. The piece ends with a slow version of the main theme as each skeleton disappears and we are left alone in an empty graveyard once more.
