Commissioned by the Southeast Iowa Bandmasters Association for their Junior High Honor Band. The work was conceived to honor the composerâ€™s daughter, Abby, as she reached her twelfth birthday. It reflects on her life from birth, including her achievements, her wit, her charm, her beauty, her kindness and the close bond she shares with her father. Musically it paints a highly descriptive picture from its haunting opening through its driving rhythmic development and building to its climactic finale. A welcome addition to the repertoire of the concert band.
