The obvious arranging choice might have been to use vocables to recreate the constant pulsating quavers that propel the musical narrative, but I found as I worked through it that using the lyrics to create most of the accompaniment offered singers more to work with in terms of finding the sense of inner emotional emergency that the piano generates in the original.
