The Sonata in G major published here is perfectly suitable for beginner's lessons, being a catchy, nice-sounding and rewarding piece for young cellists which is fun to play (and to listen to). The accompanying bass part was deliberately arranged as an easy piano part so that it can also be played by pupils.
