The composition starts with a sustaining bolero-tempo, the themes make their entry, and the music gradually swells to an overwhelming climax. The turbulent harmonic passages symbolize the wars of the past. In the end, the main theme returns once more, describing a call for peace on earth. De titel "Song For A New Generation" heeft natuurlijk betrekking op de milleniumwissel. In een steeds doorlopend 'tempo di bolero' wordt het thema voorgesteld dat symbool staat voor hoop. Verder in dit werk vertegenwoordigen enkelewervelende harmonische verschuivingen de onrusten en oorlogen die de mensheid de voorbije decennia teisterden. Op het einde komt het hoofdthema nog éénmaal terug in een majestueuze orkestratie met een knipoog naar het streven naarwereldvrede in 2000.Song for a new generation signalisiert die Jahrtausendwende. Mit einem durchgehenden Bolero-Tempo werden die Themen vorgestellt, die dann zu einem großen Höhepunkt führen. Turbulente harmonische Wendungen beschreiben vergangene Kriege. Le rythme (tempo di bolero), l’éclat des thèmes et les tournures harmoniques tumultueuses traduisent la fébrilité de l’attente, l’espoir d’un inconnu prometteur et la nécessité d’un dialogue entre les peuples pour un monde de paix. Une nouvelle génération est en marche.
