About this arrangement

Concert band Male Choir and concert band - Grade 3 SKU: BF.BM951-SET From the Opera Der Waffenschmied. Composed by Albert Lortzing. Arranged by Andre Bodin. Baton Music vocal series. From the Opera Der Waffenschmied. Full Score and set of parts. Baton Music #BM951-SET. Published by Baton Music (BF.BM951-SET). 'Der Waffenschmied' (The Armourer) is an opera (Singspiel) in three acts by German composer Gustav Albert Lortzing (1801-1851). It's often considered his third most popular work. The opera was eventually successful enough that Lortzing was offered the post of Kapellmeister at the theatre which he held until the revolution of 1848, when he had to return to Leipzig. The story is set in the city of Worms in the 16th century. The chorus 'Sprühe, Flamme! Glühe, Eisen!' is sung by the male choir at the very beginning of the Opera.
