However, it quickly became known as the theme tune to the long running Housewives’ Choice, broadcast daily on theBBC Light Programme from 1946 to 1967. Jack Strachey (1894-1972) was a British composer, bestknown for his light-hearted songs for theatre and music hall, such as These Foolish Things. He later turned to orchestral works, with hits including Theatreland and Pink Champagne.
