Met Sword of Honour zet Tom De Haes de ridder Gawain van het hof van koning Arthur in de schijnwerpers. De compositie is opgebouwd rond twee hoofdthema’s, die de strijdvaardigheid en het nobele karakter van Gawain uitdrukken.Beide thema’s komen in diverse instrumentgroepen muzikaal tot uiting. Als climax komen ze bij elkaar; samen vormen ze een waardige afsluiting.
