His music is now undergoing a post-Soviet-Union revival, thanks to his daughter Tamara Shamo and his champion, pianist Dimitri Tchesnokov. The latter has recorded Shamo's complete piano works for Piano Classics, including the Tableaux de peintres russes (Pictures by Russian Painters).
