Published by Sweetwater Brass Press (A0.808652).      This is basically the same great arrangement as Sweetwater Brass Press’ popular "Teddy Bears’ Picnic" for brass quintet. But here the classic audience-pleaser is set up for (appropriately enough!) three tubas. The top part is marked "euphonium" but can also be played on an F or E-flat tuba; a BB-flat or C instrument will definitely be needed for the bottom part. The melody passes seamlessly from instrument to instrument, and the sound of the tubas uniquely enhances the ursine nature of the composition.     This version of "Teddy Bears’ Picnic" is designed to fit in with any presentational setting, but it is also especially appropriate for a children’s concert. Conforming to the opening stanza of the song’s lyrics-"If you go down in the woods today, you’d better go in disguise"-this arrangement is framed by a somewhat mysterious-sounding ostinato, so it fits into a Halloween performance as well.     This arrangement was completed in 2014, and performance time runs about 3 minutes, 29 seconds.
