About this arrangement

Orchestra (str=4-4.4-4.3-2.3-2.5,1 perc,hp,(reh. pf)) - late intermediate SKU: TM.40815SET Composed by Gustav Holst. Arranged by Sandra Dackow. Set Type: C. I Vow to Thee, My Country, Jupiter, The Planets. Violin I, Violin II, Viola, and Cello split into A and B parts. Set of parts. Tempo Press #40815SET. Published by Tempo Press (TM.40815SET). This full-length arrangement of Jupiter is also on a massive scale, uncut and making every attempt to include all of the elements, if not instrumental colors, of the original. A large orchestra is required with separate A and B parts for Violin I, Violin II, Viola, and Cello. Position work is not required of every player, but as the music is often chromatic, everyone is challenged. All of Holst’s original meter and key changes are observed. There are numerous examples of hemiolas, often require fast and repetitive 16th notes. A harp part is included which can be played on a lever, as well as on a concert harp. To add color, the original glockenspiel part is included. A rehearsal piano part, which is supportive in nature but should not be used in performance.
