About this arrangement

SATB choir - Beginning SKU: GI.G-RAB529 Newly revised! 260 chants. Composed by Various. Royal School of Church Music. Sacred. Book. 90 pages. GIA Publications #RAB529. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-RAB529). ISBN 9780854022854. English. The psalms are the principal scriptural songs of the church. They have been part of the core of Christian worship since the earliest times. The psalms express the most profound human and spiritual feelings. The psalms give expression to the full range of human experience, and encompass the whole of our prayer and praising relationship with God. This collection of Anglican psalm chants was first published in 1981. The chants were selected so that they could be sung by all present at a service. The vocal range of the chants is limited, with reciting notes that are not too high, or vocally taxing. The first 221 chants are exactly the same as the original edition, which makes this revised edition compatible with the original. In this new edition, there is an appendix that includes chants from the RSCM Common Worship Psalter that were not already in The RSCM Chant Book. We have also included chants by all Directors of the RSCM, past and present, and a number of chants that have been used on RSCM courses over the years.
